The Rapid 100 Express Bus Service

The Rapid 100 Express Bus Service

Bus with Brutus

A More Convenient Commute

The Rapid 100 Express Bus is one of the most convenient ways to commute between Big
Rapids and Grand Rapids, including stops in Cedar Springs.

The Rapid 100 route follows the academic year and provides transit when classes are
in session. The bus does not operate in the summer or when classes aren’t held, i.e.
holidays.

The Express Bus originates in downtown Grand Rapids at The Rapids Central Station
located at 250 Grandville Ave. SW. The route to and from Ferris’ main campus in Big
Rapids includes stops near Kendall College of Art & Design (KCAD) and at the Cedar
Springs Meijer (3700 17 Mile Road). The Cedar Springs stop is in the parking lot directly
south of the Meijer gas station. The Big Rapids stops are at:

  1. Bond Drive, bus shelter outside of Puterbaugh hall, across the street from the Michigan
    College of Optometry
  2. Granger Building, north end of building in lot 2D. Riders can stand in the north end
vestibule of the Granger building or outside under cover. Please note this is a temporary
location starting March 17, 2025 until construction is completed on the Jim Crow Museum
in fall 2026. The normal location is the Science building, at the corner of Warren
    and Cedar streets.

If you have any questions about the Rapid 100 Express Bus, call Campus Auxiliary Services

Schedule

There is no bus on the weekends or during student holidays or breaks when there are no classes.
The bus will leave campus for Grand Rapids approximately 5 minutes after each arrival
time. Actual times can vary due to weather, traffic conditions, or other circumstances.
All trips to and from the main campus include a stop at the Cedar Springs Meijer (exit
104) to pick up or drop off passengers. Bus stop signs will be posted. View the complete
schedule below or click here.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to construction for the new Jim Crow Museum, the shuttle stop at the Science Building
will be temporarily relocated. Effective Monday, March 17, the new stop for the north
end of campus will be at the Granger Building, Lot 2D off Warren Ave.

Passengers can wait in the north end vestibule of the Granger building—either inside
or under the covered area—where they will be able to see the shuttle as it arrives.
This alternative stop will remain in place until fall of 2026. Please note that the shuttle stop at Bond Hall will not be impacted by this change.

The Route 100 bay at Central Station will be moving from it’s current location at
the very north end of the platform to a slot on the west edge – beginning March 24,
2025 through the remainder of the school year.
