Luxurious Experiences While Booking Commercial Flights

Flying commercially is not always the most exciting experience. Commercial passengers may feel the effects of cancelations or delays that may impact their current or future flights. Additionally, many travelers consider the boarding process to be extremely extensive. After checking in on a flight, the passenger must then travel through often-lengthy Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security lines, where travelers get their bags and persons checked by TSA agents. This can range in length, although it typically lasts between twenty and thirty minutes. Some long lines, especially during delays or popular travel seasons, can last hours at a time.

After passing through security, travelers can then make their way to their designated gate in the airport’s terminal, depending on what airline they are flying at that time. Customers must then wait for their boarding time and board according to their designated group, which may mean waiting long periods of time as other passengers board ahead of them. This entire process can take hours, with many travelers expressing their belief that the boarding process is too long.
However, several companies have attempted to reimagine this boarding process. One of these companies is known as PS, formerly known as The Private Suite. Let’s take a closer look at what PS is, as well as how this private boarding process can change commercial travel.

About PS
PS was launched in Los Angeles, California, in early 2017. The company has since expanded to serve Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in Atlanta, Georgia, in addition to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, California. The company has since grown under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Amina Belouizdad Porter. The company was also founded with a well-known security firm called Gavin de Becker & Associates, which helped the company organize its security benefits.
The unique company redefines the way that commercial boarding is completed. Specifically, PS utilizes a private terminal that is located far from the public terminal at the two commercial airports it operates at. This private terminal helps PS offer guests a unique boarding experience, which includes a “back door” entrance to their commercial aircraft. It also includes
- Luxurious and private lounges
- White-glove service while waiting for the boarding process to begin
- Private TSA and Customs clearance
How does PS work?
Overall, PS offers three different programs. The first program is called The Salon. This is designed for a small group of travelers or an individual traveler. It is often considered to be a private club, which includes a large secluded lounge at the PS private terminal. Additional benefits include complimentary valet parking, complimentary cocktails, a chef-prepared meal, and even a spa shower. This option also offers transportation shared with other guests from the private terminal directly to the aircraft at the commercial terminal.

The second option is called the Private Suite. This popular option offered by PS includes a dedicated suite for the customer and the additional passengers traveling with them. This private suite includes a day bed, a full entertainment center, a stocked pantry for snacks, and even a private restroom. Complimentary valet parking, an additional car wash, complimentary cocktails, a chef-prepared meal, and even a spa shower are included with the Private Suite option. PS will also provide a private BMW chauffeur service to and from the commercial aircraft for boarding.
PS offers the final option, PS Direct, which is the closest option to flying privately on a commercial aircraft. Once exiting their commercial aircraft, travelers utilizing the PS Option are chauffeured directly to their homes or hotels. The chauffeur also grabs any checked luggage directly from the plane. This option is currently available at LAX only.

To begin traveling with PS, there are several different pricing options. An all-access membership includes an annual fee under $5,000 with significantly lowered rates for all three options. It also includes priority reservations and a preferred cancelation policy. There is also the Salon Membership, which is approximately $850 per person per year. Travelers can book with PS without a membership, although the rate for the Salon option adds up to over $1,000 per person, and the Private Suite rate adds up to nearly $5,000 for four travelers.
