Indiana travelers will have an alternative to flights, Amtrak and Greyhound for trips starting this summer.
Charter bus company GOGO Charters is launching scheduled daily motorcoach service out of Indianapolis, South Bend and Lafayette, with rides starting as low as $10.
The Indiana service is part of GOGO’s Midwest Charter Network that the San Antonio, Texas,-based company is using to expand into daily routes servicing 15 cities, including Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee.
The new service will include daily routes between Indianapolis and Chicago with a stop in Lafayette. An Indianapolis-Columbus, Ohio, route has a stop in Dayton, Ohio.
GOGO Charters, which started in 2012, also has routes between Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth; and Houston and San Antonio.
Customers will be able to purchase tickets for up to 12 people at a time.

The company is still developing pricing, but it will be based on distance and availability of seats, a GOGO Charters spokesman said.
GOGO Charters bus ‘stations’ will be hotels
Instead of leasing buildings, GOGO Charters is partnering with hotels to serve as terminals. All of the pickup and dropoff locations are in downtown areas or near public transit centers.
Riders in Indianapolis will wait for the bus at Hotel Indy, 141 E. Washington St. The pickup/dropoff spot for Lafayette will be The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, 201 N. Grand. Renaissance Chicago Downtown, 1 W. Upper Wacker Drive, will serve as the pickup/dropoff place for GOGO Charters in Chicago.

The motorcoaches in the system are relatively new — none are older than six years, the spokesman said. The rides will have complimentary WiFi, plush reclining leather seats, onboard restrooms and televisions.

The company hasn’t schedules and numbers of routes for each day, but there will be at least one northbound and one southbound bus daily to start.

The company is targeting July for the kickoff.
Indianapolis to Bloomington: More bus routes are planned
The network will eventually expand to colleges, including a leg from Indy to Bloomington.
Another Indianapolis route will include Cincinnati, and an Indianapolis-Detroit route with a stop in Fort Wayne will likely come later, the spokesman said.
Managing travel via app
Customers can access tickets and track the bus through the service’s app. Riders will use GOGO Charters’ mobile app for booking, real-time trip tracking, and e-tickets.
