Trevolution Group Reports Surge in Premium Bookings, Early Planning, and Travel Care Demand

Trevolution Group Reports Surge in Premium Bookings, Early Planning, and Travel Care Demand

Saturday, July 19, 2025

Trevolution Group, a global travel leader, has seen a significant shift in Indian travel patterns, reflecting evolving consumer preferences as the first half of 2025 progresses. The group, which oversees brands such as ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, and Triplicity, has reported a 6% increase in gross travel bookings from India, amounting to $68.36 million. This uptick demonstrates a noticeable change in how Indian travelers are approaching their journeys, with premium-class bookings leading the way.

Inbound Travel to India: Surge in Premium-Class Bookings and Long-Haul Travel

In the first half of 2025, Trevolution Group observed a 4.21% increase in inbound travel to India, with gross bookings growing from $50.29 million to $56.10 million. This surge reflects a broader trend toward purpose-driven and long-haul travel, with travelers more willing to invest in a premium experience. Cities like Delhi, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad have seen substantial growth in inbound travel demand, with round-trip ticket bookings rising by 13.67%. This uptick in round-trip bookings is a clear indication that travelers are planning longer, more deliberate trips, as opposed to last-minute decisions.

The increased interest in business class tickets is another telling trend. In fact, business class demand surged by 27.12%, a shift that further reinforces the growing appetite for luxury travel. While economy class bookings saw a modest increase of just 0.78%, it’s the surge in premium bookings that stands out, signaling that Indian travelers are increasingly willing to invest in high-value, long-lasting experiences. Inbound travelers are also keen on securing their travel investments, with more people opting for travel protection services, a trend that aligns with the increasing focus on flexible travel experiences post-pandemic.

Travel Care: An Emerging Priority for Indian Travelers

An interesting shift highlighted in the report is the rising demand for travel care services. As uncertainty around travel plans continues to affect global travelers, Indian tourists are more likely than ever to safeguard their trips. With the ongoing impact of the pandemic, the demand for insurance, luggage protection, and other travel services has soared. Trevolution Group has reported that international travelers to India are more inclined to opt for these services, emphasizing a broader shift towards prioritizing flexibility and peace of mind during travel. This trend is not only prevalent among business travelers but also among tourists seeking to protect their vacations.

Outbound Travel: Increased Interest in Premium Travel Despite Declining Volumes

While the volume of outbound travel from India saw a decrease in H1 2025, gross bookings still reached $12.26 million, down by 27.53% from the previous year. The dip in outbound travel is largely attributed to a mix of shifting economic conditions and changing travel preferences. However, within the decline, there’s a notable surge in business class bookings, which jumped by 17.62%. This points to the continued importance of corporate and high-net-worth individuals traveling with greater comfort and luxury.

Despite a downturn in the number of economy class bookings, with a significant price increase of 8.68%, the average business class ticket price fell by 5.17%, making it more attractive for discerning travelers. This price shift is likely contributing to the growing popularity of business class, as travelers seek premium services at more accessible prices.

The Importance of Early Planning: 51-60 Day Window Grows

A standout development in travel patterns is the increase in early booking behavior. The 51–60 day booking window, for instance, grew by 18.08%, showing that Indian travelers are planning their trips with more foresight. Advanced planning has become the new norm, reflecting both a desire for better prices and an urge to secure travel arrangements in a world where uncertainty can arise at any moment. This growth in early bookings further highlights a broader global trend toward more deliberate, planned travel in a post-pandemic era.
